Thanks, I'm only 15 and this is my first truck. I would like to fix it up and drive to highschool. I managed to buy for $300. The interior is all original and there is no cracks on the dash.

Just needs a little work

Is it running okay? The 2WD trucks ride like a sports car IMO. I looks really good. I don't know about the diesel parts but some of the most random things are still available. They sold diesel in Canada so you might check there if you need parts. I notice you need the front bumper end. You can get one side for about $12 shipped from eBay. Here's both ends for $23.73 including shipping.

Yes, it's running okay for it being an old truck. Reaches 85 mph. Thanks for the link, already ordered them. Do you know where I can find a bumper guard, so I don't break that side piece again?

I'm not sure what that is. I have a same body style 4Runner and all I have is the bumper ends. Maybe you need a custom bumper but personally I'd get it running and looking good before expensive additions.

Whoa

Found this in my neck of the woods of all places! Seriously outstanding truck. I would probably cough up a cool 8K for this thing. Looks phenomenal.

That thing's almost too nice to drive! It seems common for people to rebuild and restore a vehicle to car-show condition, and then sell it. What gives? Just boredom?

I always need to have something to work on. Once something is finished, it's not the same. I have that problem except I don't sell things, I just buy additional projects.

The 85 4x4 I just bought, before the accident, was easily a 5-6K truck, and I thought it was the nicest yota around but that 88 is insane. It needs some aluminum SR5 wheels and ko2s to look pristine though. But that's just my opinion.

My lower back is sprained right now so I can't tear the 85 apart. It's killing me.

I'm looking at an 87 4runner now. Talked to the guy tonight about it and I can get it for $500. Everything is there except the 22RE. I have two spare 22R harnesses for the engine area, but I'll have to read Terrys threads to splice them in with the rear harness area. The engine from the 85 would obviously go right into it, but I don't know. I have to think about it. I know the 22R/22RE conversion problems via proxy but, I do have complete vehicles to work with instead of piecing it together.

Lots of good stuff on this truck. Not 100℅ sure what I'm going to do with it. The 4runner I'm gonna look at this weekend could be a bust so... If it is, I'll just part out this truck. I've seen this thing on my street since I was a kid. Used to have a huge chrome roll bar and wide tires on it. Looked 80s as hell. The interior is in such good shape, I'm contemplating swapping it all into my truck. And the doors open and and shut SOLID.

CHOICES!!!

Hahaha man if I lived ANYWHERE NEAR a place to wheel that would be my go to plan. There is no off-roading where I live. It sucks.

Nice find. How many miles are the 85? That engine bay is pretty clean. I would have scarfed this one up too. Then again I scarf up just about everyone I find.

202K. Trans was rebuilt at 150K and timing chain was done 40K ago. Neighbor was pretty meticulous about upkeep. Yeah I think I'll end up with a few more lol

If you want to SAS a rig you have a great parts truck. Just get some chevy 63"'s and a minimum kit. You have the rears and axle probably part the rest of it out for the cost of the kit.

Since you don't have and wheeling around you it would make a badass Mall Crawler. Hahaha
