This is the first of your builds I'll be able to follow from the beginning, I discovered your other two after the fact. Both are amazing; your flatbed is one of my favorite yotas of all time. Looking forward to see what you do with this one!

I do want to hear your reasoning behind choosing ES9000 shocks instead of ES3000s. The ES9ks are supposed to be for bigger trucks, while ES3ks are more intended for mini trucks. I ask because I'll be buying Pro Comp shocks in the next few months, and I don't want to choose the wrong type.

Also, what color will this truck be painted?

looks good wished i took better pictures of your transmission when i had it apart. However his L50 bearings were shot, most of them running around out of their cages. So out of strength and lack of rust we built a 83 L52 up for him the 52's have a support bearing on the cluster shaft to prevent the self destruction we saw with his original trans.

Thanks for the compliments.
We are taking the color back to a stock dark grey. I am very excited about the final outcome of this truck!

Update, new work on the truck. New motor is in (pics soon), new tranny is in. The truck is running great other than an intake leak that I have fixed TWICE! I now have to replace the intake due to a warp around the carb mount. I drove the truck 300 miles to pick up a bed and doors in almost perfect condition. I had to set the idle high due to the leaking carb seat but other than that the truck drives and runs like a dream. It took a few winding nor cal turns to finally break in the front end and loosen things up. After we had it back and I took a look at things everything was fine. No leaks, no issues other than a clutch master leak. Fixed that today.
Not long now before it is done!

Got the muffler in and done. New doors perfectly straight! Dang I love OREGON!!!

Bondo all over the bed I need to sand and soon to follow PAINT!!
The motor is super strong and quick. General Machine here in Arcata does a fantastic job with these motors!! Also, the LC header really make a big difference in power IMHO.
I need to get one for my 82.
Hopefully I can get on the body this week sometime.
I will keep up with the updates!!
