RustyToy's $100 83 4x4 longbed Rebuild Thread
last year at my family christmas i finally asked my uncle about that toyota that has been sitting in his yard since 02. he said it doesnt run and he would sell it to me for $100 so i rented a tow dolly and picked it up. it had two flats and i only had one spare. so i put the spare in the rear and left the flat in the front on the dolly. well halfway home the trailer started swaying violently over 40mph so i pulled over and one strap was completely off and the other was barely holding on to the flat tire. It was a close call but i finally arrived home

the truck had a 2wd oil pan on it and i think someone had jumped the truck because it had an imprint of the axle housing in it. so i took it off and the oil pickup was bent and i found pieces of plastic from the timing chain guide in the pan.

so i used my forklift at work to remove the engine and found a mechanic who already had a rebuilt motor and used my broken one as a core charge and had him put the new one in.
