LowSantorin's 1979 Build-Up Thread

This 1st gen has spent the last nine years sitting out behind the house. It blew a rear end and then ended up sitting and getting robbed of parts for my old '83. When I finally started to work on it again it needed a tranny and t-case put in, new rear 3rd member, fuel pump and filter, and interior cleaned up/redone. I am doing this with a budget in mind and trying to make a nice wheeler that is not all beat up/smashed. My dad bought it brand new in 79 and we have had it since, It only has 105k original on it. . So far we have pulled it down replaced the rear end, new fluids and started her right up. Picked up some 33x13.5 Swamper LTB's and mounted them on an old set of 15x10 mags that i sanded and polished out. Plans include mounting the winch, paint, bob bed, front/rear lockers and new springs and shocks. Looking for lockers and suspension. First day i moved it and started pressure washing

how it sits as of today

Not too much has changed. Locked it up, made a winch mount but kept the stock look with stock bumper. Slight lift and lots of wheelin. This winter it will undergo some changes in the form of dual cases, slight exo, redo suspension possibly.
