FS: Top of the line Eclipse 8454 CD player
Toyota is the best Japanese vehicle, Eclipse is the best CD player! I bought this from a dealer for $600 back in 2004. The original one was defective, and was replaced with a brand new one under warranty in early 2006. My financial aid has run out and I have to come up with tuition for the spring semester so I'm clearing out my years worth of car audio equipment starting with the best piece. Here is a review I found:
Sometimes, the latest and greatest technologies only make marginal improvements that are actually audible to the average listener. Other times, however, technology can really make a difference. The Eclipse CD8454 uses an incredible system to allow you to tune the system to the exact interior acoustics of your car. A "snapshot" of the frequency response inside your car is taken by the head unit and stored on a Memory Stick. Via a PC and the Internet, the Memory Stick can then connect to the Eclipse E-iSERV server that looks at your car's acoustic image, and it downloads the frequency and time delay information to optimize the sound. Place the Memory Stick back into the CD8454, and it will set itself up for proper playback. This is an absolutely brilliant way for anyone to receive a customized tuning.
The CD8454 can play CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3, WMA, and ATRAC3 from the Memory Stick reader, and it has a full AM/FM receiver and CD changer controls. If you are going to add an external amplifier or other outboard gear, you'll appreciate the very high eight-volt line output, which provides a stronger, cleaner sound. The built-in amplifier has up to 50 watts maximum into four channels, and there is an auxiliary input for listening to a portable audio device. This is a top-of-the-line system that enables anyone to get a fabulous sounding computer-tuned system.
This failed to mention one of the key features. It has 8 volt preamp outputs. Basically, your amp amplifies what you give it. Most CD players have 2.5-4V outputs. What the high output voltage translates into is incredibly clean sound and high output with minimal distortion from your amps. Another feature is the Real Time Analyzer feature, in which an included microphone "listens" to pink noise generated by the CD player, and adjusts the sound so it tweaks itself for you vehicle and equipment. The unit is in excellent condition and comes with original box, RTA mic, manual, remote, wiring harness... all of it! $275 shipped.

This is a pic I found online, the unit is still in my 4Runner but it looks like new!
