Hope not. I hate splicing wires. Would much rather plug and play.

Should be easy to wire. Run a wire to a positive 12 volts out of the fuse block, and run a ground under the dash to body metal. The wiring is only for the lightbulbs anyway. Test the fuse block for a spare 12 volt location with a test light.

What I'm trying to do is tie the altimeter into the dashlight circuit. I believe I have found the correct circuit......just need the wiring harness to pull it all together.
Thanks for responding.

Not trying to be rude, but I am 99.9% sure nobody is going to have an inclinometer "wiring harness" that they are not using.
What needs to be done to install it is so simple, you really ought to just do it. Any dashlight circut (glovebox light and ashtray light come to mind) will work. I used the glovebox light on my 92 4Runner.

i thought you figured this out a few weeks ago?!? you started two threads, which i merged, but now you are looking for a harness?
like the others have said, you really are making this more difficult than it is. you dont need a harness. the inclinometer has two wires. a positive and a negative. groudn the negative with a self tapping metal screw. as for the positive, as a suggestion, find the power wire going to your ash tray light and use a t-tap or a splice to connect to it. i'd recommend that you solder the connection, but to keep it simple for now, tap it.

I thought I had the entire thing figured out, until I felt I needed the original harness for the unit. I am so fussy with my toys that I'm sure the 4runner will be spending the summer in the pole barn (like it does for the winter months) as well.
I think I'm gonna go with your recommendation if my dealer can't come up with a harness. Thanks.

If you do a clean job of wiring, it should be fine. I do know where there is a harness in a '87 4runner in a junkyard here in montana, I got the inclinometer out of it last weekend. Possibly if I go back there anytime soon (maybe) I can snag it for you. The guy that owns the scrapyard likes to keep his harnesses complete.

Wow, I appreciate the offer!! Let me give my dealer a couple days and if he drops the ball, I'll get in touch with you.
I suppose I do get carried away with "wanting to do everything right", but like I said, I am fussy with my toys. I'd rather spend a little more effort doing something right the first time than going back and doing it again at a later date.
Thanks again.

well heres the thing: is the wire harness on your clinometer already intact? or is it cut off like the vast majority of the ones sold on ebay? if its already cut, you still need to solder the connections.
...so what's the difference? i understand being anal and having things done right, but there is no sense (to me) in buying a harness when soldering one wire and grounding the other is the more sensible and less costly approach

The plug was still on mine and all I did was went to the parts store and bought a pack of crimp on connectors that will plug right onto the posts still in your clinometer connector. These will allow you to unplug it if you ever need to take it out. If the plug is cut off of your clinometer just make a nice clean solder splice and run the wires- YOU ARE GONNA HAVE TO SPLICE ANYWAY IF THIS IS THE CASE!!!! Then I ran the wires right to the back of the dimmer switch where I soldered them on and now the clinometer will dim with all my other lights.
Here are the connectors I bought......

Well, the dealer said he'd need until Monday to talk to the mothership (Toyota) and see if they can find a harness. That's ok, since I'll be having them order me a stereo bezel as well.
If they can't find me one, I'll probably just tap into a wire as has been suggested.
Thanks for all the replies and pics.
