opinion on tires

So I ordered from desert rat a set of 32x11.5x15 bfg allterrains on rims. They said they didn't have them in stock but that they should have gotten them at the end of February and ship them before March came. I'm in Chicago now but Im moving to san Diego and stopping in mt. Shasta, ca on the way and picking up my truck there. So the tires need to be delivered by the 23rd of March so i can put them on in shasta before driving the 13 hours south to san Diego. I called them on the 2nd and they said they don't know why they haven't gotten them yet but if the date starts to get to close they could put a different set on the rims. I'm planning on doing that today or tomorrow. My only delima is whether to get a size up on the allterrains or get mud terrains in 32s. I've ran 33s a while ago and they were just a little big then. I have a 1 inch body lift and have a set of bj spacers that Im planning on putting on in san Diego. once those are on the 33 should fit fine but It's gonna be tight till then. The reason I want the all terrains instead of the mud terrains is cuz Im not gonna be in the mud as much and I've had friends that said theirs lasted on road with some off-road for a long time. What are your opinions. Should I get 33 inch allterrains or 32 inch mud terrains?

Ultimately it will be up to you. If you drive it on the road the most, I'd say get the all terrains. They will wear a lot better than mud terrains, especially the BFG All-Terrains. In terms of wear, BFG All-Terrains are among the best. Plus, the all terrain would ride a lot better and can be balance easier than the mud terrain. This may not be necessarily true because it depends on what tire you buy. Plus with 32" tires, your choices are very limited.

Just my $0.02.

I travel the country for work in my truck. And I run BFG KM2 mud terrains. The reason for the mud terrains is sometimes job sites get nasty, I like to explore when in various areas of the country, and the deep voids/large lugs tend to shed water from the road whenever it rains hard. (that's my opinion from experience with both types of tires). And after reading for weeks from previous users, I pulled the trigger, purchased 33x10.50x15's, and found them hardly noticeable in regards to noise. I have an '84, so wind noise is the loudest, followed by stereo. But other passengers have stated the same thing, they're not loud at all. You can carry on a conversation at 30-40-50-60-70-80mph easily. Without yelling at all.

If you ever go offroad, in any type or degree of moist earth, the BFG a/t will fill up very fast and give you no traction. So I opted for m/t's.

I just put a set of 33x12.50 x15 bfg's on my 83 and they are pretty quiet (got the whole set new for $680 before tax). Seem like a good tire. however I trying to find information and changing the gear ratios because of the bigger tires. Any suggestions or can you point me in the right direction?

4.88s puts you back to stock gearing with 33s. 5.29s go to 35s and above. At least as far as I know. And you stole those tires at that price. I paid about 240/tire fully warranted and mounted/balanced...
