Michelin Lattitude X-ice snow tires tomorrow

I finally broke down after the Michelin Lattitude X-ice went on sale at Canadian Tire (they are selling for $156 each....they are usually $208.....for 265/70R16's so you guys in Canada grab some quick if you want to run dedicated snow tires). I got tired of sliding around with my Michelin LTX M/S (what a misnomer!) and we just got another dumping today so I am going to run true winter and summer tires (makes a huge difference on our Civic too). The LTX M/S had traction in 4WD going straight but get scary when going around a turn or anything. With a new little one it just makes more sense to run two sets and then the summer tires last that much longer too. Can't wait to see how the perform, my apt is at 3:00 so I'll give em a good spin and post back.

Now I need to get another set of 16" rims so I can mount a set of LTX M/S for warmer weather driving.

Anyone got a set of the "coke bottle" sport rims or the 5 star limiteds, shoot me a PM:

Either

I LOVE my X-ICE tires. Also works great in all the rain we have been having.

OK well I got them installed today and all I can say is WOW what a difference from a fair weather tire (my Michelin LTX M/S's). I noticed better traction almost immediately and I can actually drive around in 2WD without slipping all over the place and entering parking lots sideways. When in 4WD with heavy slush/snow I did feel it slip a bit, but I would expect that from everything but mud boggers. It flung snow out behind me like no one's business when I gave it some gas and despite the slippage it still was able to shoot me forward in a straight line. The most notable difference BY FAR is braking. Before the ABS would come on at almost every stop if you didn't give it a very generous braking distance. Now, you can almost drive just like you do with dry pavement (notice I do say almost.....I was still a bit scared to come in all the time at regular speed just in case I hit ice). Overall it is a HUGE improvement and well worth the money (total was $780 CDN) and piece of mind to run a dedicated winter and summer set of tires.

Here's what I got installed:
