No practical 37 from the SX, but you can get a 36x12.5. It would mean 16.5" rims which likely means beadlocks, etc.

I really think that you can have it all in the form of either Krawlers or MT/R's in something that will be decent on the street and will "rock" in the rocks.

Search for SSR's. Expensive and disappointing seem to be most of the reports.

Exactly how much does the 285 Trxus weigh?

I would have to say, the TRXUS tires is a pretty nice tire with plenty of beef on the tread, and siping to boot. However, I didn't see anything about radial business on these tires.

What about the SSR Series Radial/TSL tires?

One of the problems I have encountered with the BFG tires is dry rot. I have taken a few tires back to Discount for cracing appearing around the bead. They have always been great about giving me another tire, but none the less, its a hassle.

HUH??? 36 x 12.5 "15" is what I have and if you put them on 8" rims they measure out at `37" and are less likely to pop off bead. They also make 38.5 x 12.5 15 and 38.5 x 14.5 15.

That is a nice way to get new tires though.

SteveO, go with a tire that works best offroad....

Yeah, you are having this discussion with the wrong group. You need to have it with the boss, and she'll do this

Will Discount Tire trade your 295's in for something bigger?

You cannot use 15" rims on new runners with big brakes.

You can use Hummer beadlocks in 16.5" rims.

I think that heavy ass Swampers will be the end of your IFS.

I have not heard of those issues with BFG's.

No, they wouldn't consider the idea. I explained that they are nearly new, and he said "but they are still used". I said, "OK, thank you for your time" and ended the conversation. I realized I was getting anywhere, and he wasn't going to listen. So, no deal.

Maybe look into Iroks??? They are cheaper and lighter than SX's, and are made on a Bogger carcass!

Well, they do have the tire available in the 37 x 12.5 x 16LT, but I'm a little scared of the price, being a new tire and all.

The smallest IROK that 4wheelparts carries, on their website is a 36 x 13.5 x 16LT for $232 each. Ouch.....The wife will really love me then.

The IROK's are supposed to work quite well on the rocks, Chris over at Marlins put them on his buggy and at Hammer's loved them.

There's an on going discussion about the swampers at tacoma territory and how many people are having problems with them, you may want to go there and read what has been written.

O K, now I'm scared of the Interco tires. One of the members, "The Wet Dog", put it quite well...."Swampers are great offroad tires. Therefore they suck balls onroad. I don't see a reason to get a radial swamper for that reason, it is not exactley what they are known for."

If I decide to drive my 4Runner to the trail, it could be one hell of a long drive, and I may not have a steering rack by the time I get there.
