Anyone running Yokohama Geolander M/T+
These tires:

How are they holding up?
What the noise level is like on pavement?
How are they in mud?

Should we look for you on Monster Truck Jam? Those look unbelievably aggressive. I looked at the Tire Rack site, but only found a few user reviews. A new model? But, the regular M/T has over 80 reviews.

The Yokahoma tires have been around for a little while now and they have been getting good reviews. The price is hard to beat! For a 265/ 75R/16 or 31" tire they sell for about $100.00.
Another tire that gets high ratings is the "Dunlop Radial Rover R/T " that sells for about the same price. Mike

The difference between the M/T and the M/T+ is supposedly a harder tread compound for better mileage, sidebiters added, sidewall and rim protection, more groves, blah, blah, blah...

FWIW, I've always had great luck and better performance out of Yokohama tires compared to any other brand except Falkens. Their tires are more specialized and narrowly focused, it seems. No "one size fits all", get the tire for your specific need and know that it'll work as advertised. It helps that they're usually less $ than the competition, too.

not sure how often you check this but i have them on my jeep wrangler YJ. 35x12.50x15's. had them bout a year now and drive on them quite i bit. must say, not as load as one would think. i do a decent amount of wheelin(all the jeep is used for now that i have my 4runner), and have NEVER had a problem. never gotten stuck do to loss of traction (mud pits were just too deep or should i too rutted out by trucks with 44's). as far as price i payed 672 shipped from tirerack.com. they kick ass when its raining. in snow they are damn good too. hope it helps. can post pics if you wish or email you them to show you them in action.....

i've got the mt's. they've held up very very well for me. the noise level isn't too bad, though i enjoy the sound of the tire hum. I've only been stuck once in mud with them, that was my fault, not the tires. i took the wrong line and high centered myself, and no chunking at all, which suprised me since i did alot of "left over concrete" climbing at work this winter.
oh, for a spare, i have a 33x12.50 wild country mudder. just took the least worn tire out of the 4 i had on prior too and had the tire shop throw it on a el-cheapo rim just in case.

backing up is not a problem at all. they run really well backwards....just look at the 2001 ultimate adventure CJ with 39 baja claw's or any posion spyder rig for that matter, they all run them backwards. i have yet to see them chunk and i'm hard on my jeep. they have only one down fall that seems to have been addressed.....no side wall bit. its the one thing that concerns me. otherwise i love 'em. thye truely are great if you need to drive alot on the road and still need a good MT off road.

last night I saw 4 32x11.50 bfg at's laying at walmart tire center, asked the guy how much and after about 5 min's of looking it up he said 170 a tire lol. He said they wouldn't price match on special orders either..
