4.3 vaccum/ positioning questions...

hey guys, lately ive been throwing around the idea of a 4.3 swap in my 91 ext cab 3.0 5speed truck. the headgaskets are going and the damn valve covers leake like no other... i would go with a throttle body 4.3 vortec and my w56 tranny/ tcase...

my first concern was what would happen with all of my stuff that is vaccum actuated? ie, front diff..?

another concern is how everything would fit together?? like if i got the AA w56 to 4.3 bellhousing, and i got the AA 3.0 to 4.3 engine mounts would everything just bolt up? would all of my tranny/ tcase mounts be left alone?

thanks for any info/ advise!!

There will be vacuum ports on the 4.3 to plug into. You'll have to use your imagination to get it hooked up.

From what I've read, the Advance Adapters bellhousings and mounts are designed to work with the transmission in the original location.

The vacuum is not a problem there are plenty of ports and a $2 fitting assortment pkg will get you what you need.
I am swapping a 4.3/ 700r4 into my '85 4runner and it really needed the recommended 2" body lift.
I think the 4.3 swap may work better on a straight axle rig than on an IFS rig from what I have read, but you may be able to use the smaller oil pan to eliminate those clearance problems.
My thread in this section has some info that may prove helpful, but pirate4x4 has many 4.3 swap threads if not. Most of what I am doing is not necessary or advised.
