3S-GTE in 93 4Runner

Has it been done? what issues are there? im talking about a 3rd gen 3S-GTE with the newer oil pan and filter location.

i have a feeling that the pan will not clear the cross member.

oh my 4runner is a 4x4 5 speed

I haven't seen or heard of it. That's a pretty small motor for a truck, especially if you're loaded down. Those motors didn't make max torque until like 4k rpm.

It might be fun in a small 2wd pickup, but then why not just go with a 7m turbo or a V8 of any flavor? I think my 7mgte motor in my truck has barely enough low end torque to make me happy. On boost its pretty fun though.

do a 2j swap. it will cost the same or less. i did mine for under 3k. a 3s would be sweet though. i thought about that motor thinking it would be easier to fit but ended up using a 2jzgte instead. a bellhousing and clutch setup would be the hurdle. with yours if you used a 96 and up r150 from a t100 you have a passenger side transfer case and an input shaft the same lenghth and spline as an r154. this allows you to keep 4wd and bolt up using a 1jz bellhousing and clutch. it fits barely but you will be happy with it destroying ricers ha ha and running 14 sec quarter miles

oh trust me, being a Supra owner, id love to put a 2JZ in there, but I already have the 3S. I can put a small turbo on it that will spool quick and it will be much better than the 3VZ.

I bought a 95 T100 2WD for the 5VZ, that was my original plan. decisions, decisions
