ok i'll stop being a tease.... so a year and a half after i blow up my 3.0 the turck is back on the road..kinda. I still need to finish the little stuff front ARB hooked up, install front drive line, get alignment, make battery tray, get exhaust hooked up, put it back on insurance, get current tags, etc etc. BUT it runs and drives at this point. I about 3 months ago i got one of the last if not the last ORS kit made, it was a very complete kit..... the hang up was trying to find a 3.4 5sp motor wiring harness. the motor i bought was from an auto, so i bought an 97 5sp ECU but the plugs were different... after rediscovering i had a $100 to the dealership, and a 45 min phone call were i was arguing with the parts department that it IS POSSIBLE to put a 3.4 in a 94 4runer, and $263 going on the visa a new wiring harness was ordered.
The motor swap started thrusday evening. i had to drag the big runner back to the shop, get the tranny pulled. Friday morning Vital22 drove down to help me and by buddy jason. HUGE PROPS go out to vitaly... with out him this would have taken 3 times as long. but 2 days and 5 trips to autozone later the truck backed out of the shop under its own power.. also want to thank al for coming up and helping wrench on it as well. it was a fun weekend. thanks again!
the IRS is a $40 autozone special, custom made to fit. my inital reaction to the swap is i LOVE IT! i only got to drive it around the shop complex but it was enough for me to fall in love with my truck again.... i'll have a better road report later today
on to the pics and video
had to get the "mary shot"
