98 Tacoma 3.4 to 95 PU 3.0 Swap -Tach
Great site!! I have "finished" a swap 3.0 to 3.4 into my 95 PU. Some things I have done are really questionable, but most things work. The COR gave me a lot of trouble, the speedometer also needed a lot of time to get working. I mounted the battery and air cleaner basically as you guys have shown on this site. I had a muffler shop build the crossover pipe from a jig I built using the 3.4. The oil pan from the 3.0 was pretty straight forward. Dipstick had a place to go on the 98 3.4 block. Did not need a body lift, as the 3.4 fit under the hood. I used a lot of sites for wiring including the Toyota technical pay site. Unfortunately they did not have Canadian 95 PU wiring, so I went ahead and wired up what I could.
Main problems now are the tach and cruise control. I suspect that if the tach worked I would have a better chance of getting the cruise to work. I have seen here that the tach signals may be different for the 98Taco and the 95PU. I pulled the dash apart yesterday to see if I could see where the 10K resistor should be spliced into the printed circuit for the tach, but my printed circuit covers the entire back of the instrument cluster and is nothing like the standalone printed circuit picture for the tach I have seen on this site. Can anyone out there who had a similar problem help? Thanks!!

From my swap thread (https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f160...post51920955):
Bare, unaltered tach:
with 10K added:
Hope that helps with your tach question, I didn't swap over any cruise control stuff, so I can't help you there.

Sacrunner - After more digging - I found your solution was TOTALLY right. The printed circuit I was looking at was for the instrument cluster lights? I put in the 10k resistor - tach works great now. Thanks again.
