Service Bulletin Squeaky Dash

Greetings I am now an owner of a 2001 Tacoma and have the dreaded dash squeak. I have found the service bulletin on Custom Tacos web page. Seems easy with the exception of disconnecting the air bag to reach one area. Has anyone found an easier way or is this it? The service bulletin would be good if the truck was still under the 3yr 36,000 mile warrenty. And I dont feel like handing money to the dealer for a, on the surface, quick fix. thanks

Hmmmmmm. I haven't heard of this. Mine doesn't squeak. What is the link to this problem. I may be able help since I have had mine apart.

It sounds easy enough. Once you get the glove box out and the piece of ducting it is all visible. I removed this stuff to run wires for my compressor. I would disconnect the battery if I were you.

WITHOUT FAIL, disconnect the battery! When you pull the airbag, your handsome face will be inches from the bag. An inadvertent detonation would be painful!

A good selection of 1/4" extensions and a universal joint are required, but this will solve the rattle problem

Hmm I've been getting squeaks in the dash of my '99 4Runner as well. I wonder if the causes are the same. If so, I can use similar countermeasures under my dash.
