cross shaft bolt length and thread pitch
my cross shaft bolts are loose again, i had a temp fix on it but it was only temporary... none of the dealerships in the US carry them for my truck anymore and they said they can order it from toyota but it would take 6 weeks.. the bolts are $4 each from the dealer... anyways, i want to replace mine with one jsut a tad longer... and then add on a locknut... i had a locknut on the exposed threads of the oem one but it fell off and my suspension is loose again... i can't go too much longer as it might interfere with the movement of the uca

ok... the thread pitch is 12x1.25 and the length is about 70mm
however.... the replacement bolt i got is almost sae grade 5 but dint have a self centering taper on it and also wasnt threaded as far as the stock one down was... so i will keep everyone informed on how it works... the reason for replacement was my stock bolt got chewed up before, and i jsut tightened it and tossed on a nylon locknut... well, it worked its way loose again, so i replaced the bolt... hopefully it holds well, this time (in addition to the stock welded nut that its threaded into) i added 2 jam nuts (about 1/2 the size of a regular nut) and a regular nut... it shouldnt loosen on its own now...... also put 2 jamnuts on the otehr bolt that never gave me problems.....
