90 2dr sas

keep an eye on the rear link brackets on the top side of the axle, they like to tear off.
im currently sas'in a 1990 4 dr 4runner, cause my buddy rolled his 90 2 rd 4runner and swapped everything into the 4 rd. we are using leafs in the rear too. this is the 3rd 4runner ive swapped leafs in front and rear.

3"? really? lol looks much taller hmm im going with 3" too but figure i will do the rear leaf swap with f150's i would do the 860 coils too but people say its weak? what do you think about the rear rightnow? 15"x8" with only 2" back spacing? dont 37" MTR's need 17" rims? those arent the kevlar ones but on tirerack.com i cant find the sizes of the regular wrangler mtr. hmm lol im thinking some 35"x12.50" original super swampers hehe

these are the old style mtr's. The new style has to be 17" for a 37" tire.
Weak? Like they break? Never heard that. These are some thick coils. Take a look at my pic comparing them to the stock fj80 coils. Personally I love the coils in the rear. The only complaint that I have is that toyota was drunk when they designed the rear suspension.
I'm gonna wheel it for a while as is to get it out of my system and then i'll do something else with the rear suspension. Keeping coils but probably gonna do a true 4 link or I have even seen a few runners do a nice y-link that would be a cheap alternative I just have a feeling with the y-link it will have horrible sway.
But it's all in good time. I don't get into any rush working on this thing as you can tell from when I started on it. lol

thats what i was thinking because on tire rack they have the old ones like yours and the new kevlar ones, but no sizes for the old ones so i was lost lol. i like the ones you have better did you buy them new?
not the coils, the link mounts and such? it's what i have heard not saying it is the way it is lol plus the links get kinda short but your height looks decent maybe i will go 860's for a bit too, would make it easyer and im sure if im nice to it it should be ok
havent heard allot about a y link but i think i understand it. i would just go 4 link all custom, thats what i will most likely do to if i dont go leafs, but coil over is better anyways so hmmm
yeah i can tell lol its a good way to go! we are going to have really similar runners haha

I'm pretty sure you can't buy these mtr's new anymore. I got mine used, set of 5 wheels and tires from a guy on another forum. It fits well.. the only rubbing I have so far is when I am flexed with the wheels turned. It rubs on my bumper.... so thats an easy enough fix. Though I haven't fully flexed it out with the new tires yet.
Yeah, the toyota links suck. I have a bent upper link from snagging on my gas tank. I'm just gonna wheel it hard for a while once it breaks it is time for an upgrade haha. Thats why i did the sas. Broke a cv shaft and decided it was not worth my time to replace.

yeah exactly if it works then use it untill it doesnt work lol i could see how you would bend that one, freaking gastank is in a bad spot and too low, im going to move mine to where the under tire carrier would have been . oyah cv's lol im glad im moving away from ifs, its going to be so much better with a sfa and im doing longs too

ya i can confirm that goodyear doesnt sell the old MTR's which really pissed me off. I was going through meats with my messed up IFS and bought two new MTR's 35" 12.50's on 15's and put them on the back and my rears up front, wrecked them then fixed my front end "AGAIN", and whent to order two new ones and they told me they dont make them. so 35" 12.50R15 KM2's it was lol. so I got two 35"mtrs with 90% tred and one with 100%, and i cantbuy one mtr two have a full set. cant believe good year would stop making them, bfg has made the mud terrains for ever.

You're going to need more than just the 3" spacers to level it out.
Although tg says it is a 3" kit. When you are doing the sas it will give you more than 3". Overall you will need about 5-6" in the rear.

I'm going to be doing this same setup but wanted to know when going with the ome 860 just lower the panhard bracket, shock and the brake valve? This is what i need to figure out before I start hacking!!!
