Question 5.13-5.29

i'm doin a sas with 35" goodyear MT/R and arb's and was woundering if i schould go with a set of 5.13's gears or 5.29's

will you be using toyota axles? 5.29's are your only option for toyotas, 5.13's aren't available.

And if you're using Dana axles, 5.29's aren't available, closest is 5.38.

Also - what transmission do you have? If it's an auto, you're gonna need AT LEAST 5.71's if you want to hold the overdrive on anything remotely uphill or into the wind...

I would reccommend against 5.71s. Not the strongest gear out there.

put a 3.4 in that thing and then run 4.88s

BS - it is no weaker than 5.29's which everyone says are OK. Both have 7 tooth pinions. If you want to be stronger, you have to stay with 4.88's or higher.

Some would even argue that 5.71's are STRONGER...

I thought they had less teeth on the pinion. So much mis-information floating around a guy gets confused.
