2nd gen hilux surf sas swap

Hi guys, I recently bought a 94 Toyota Hilux Surf 3.0 1kz-te.

Here is my situation. I am a B-pressure / certified tig welder. Fabrication isn't an issue. This is my first project, I have very little knowledge in the field of automotive. This will be a massive learning curve for my self. This is a sport that I would like to be involed in and I would like to build my own rig and have the satisfation of it being mine. If I do not have the proper tools I will aquire them. If the labour is possible to do in ones own garage I will learn how to do it. If it cannot be done then obviously I will take to whom I must.

I have done some research Via here, toyota diesel, google, I have two local shop's that deal with off road machines near by. I am in the starting stages/planning to do an sas swap on my hilux.

I am 100% willing to do the research needed for this project but I am here today to see what my options are. I find it very difficute to research something that you know nothing about .

I am building this rig for two reason's. Winter/work and trails. and by work I mean when I am headed to a camp job and my travel is over an hour down loggin trails that have holes that are capable of eating small cars.

The 4x4 system it has now makes this rig a POS for winter as it is not suitable for pavement. From what i have read, the 3rd gens have a central diff allowing 4x4 at anytime.

Anyway, regardless I am looking to do an sas swap that will allow me to use my rig in 4x4 on any road, I am looking for suggestions as too what front axel I should be looking for. I have been looking at https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f152...er-sas-130215/
and an 89hilux front axel is looking to be hard to find here in western canada.

I have read hundreds of post and somethings make sense... other things do not. I am taking things one step at a time, I will try my best to search for my answer's but keep in mind, I am here for Guidance. Many of you have years and years of experience and have come acoss what works and what doesn't. So any Comments, Guidance, Information, Links, suggestions are more then welcome.

I thank you all for your time
Take care
Andre.
