Glad you guys can come! This will be one heck of a group.
http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=41, it says theres a shelf, wide enough for one 4x4, and since yotas are skinny I don't think it will be too bad.

I am still hoping to go, unfortunatly in my business, i wont know for sure until about friday sometime, but do think i can pull it off. Is this still a bring your own lunch or are we all bringing dogs and sodas. Were is everyone meeting at in denver, i have seen 104th and i-25. Is that still on for everyone coming from denver?

I also might try and talk my dad into going as well. He runs a stock '95 runner with ranchos and brand new 31X10.50 BFG AT's. Keep telling him that he needs to break in the new meats. Can a stock runner do this. It is now starting to show its age with 180+K miles on it but i believe it can still get er' done.

this is by no means a shelf road, unless its washed really bad, but it is only narrow enough for 1 truck. If we are headed down, we'll all be backing if we meet someone.

Okay it is official I am going on this, kids are taken care of and truck is running, so yeehaw!!

anyone in south Denver area can we meet at C-470 and Ken Karyl there is a McDonalds right off the highway at say 8:30ish? I think that Dekri suggested something like that.

Ric and AxleIke is it channel 4 or 5?

Can't wait!!! just gotta figure which tires to run the 31's or 32's? 31 are better for the road and my 32'2 are for the dirt?

ok all,
its looking like we are going to have a good showing, im thinking that the North people meet at the Shell staion at I-25 & 104th at 8am.. we can meet the south people some where close to 285 & 470 about 9 ? if that works, if we need to change the time or meeting place please let us know.. its looking like about 14 people showing up sweet.. oh lets use Ch. 4 (easier to remember 4 for 4x4) if we need to change we will..
please post up if your going, and where you will meet so we wont miss anyone.

Ric,
Not sure if there are other people from my area going up... So I was thinking of just meeting just off the C-470/Kipling exit. There is a Kohls to your right, you can see it from the highway before you exit. I'll be in the middle of the Kohls parking lot. I'll have my cb on ch. 4 if you just wanna holler at me when you get close.

If there are others from my area, if you have an easier/closer meeting place you can think of, let me know.

For those of us in South Denver (Co Springs(?)), we should meet at the Kohl's parking lot at 8:30am on Saturday.

I don't have a CB, but I'll try to get one b4 then.

That time sounds good to me. CO Springs has another way to get there, so Doug and Darcie will not be coming down to the c-470 area.

Guys, it doesn't look like i will be able to make it. One of my co-workers is going to be off that day and i need to work all frickin day.

It would have been nice to tell me earlier so we copuld have found someone to cover it but nobody wants to come in so im stuck there.

I'll try and make the next one. Hopefully it will be as good of a turnout as this one looks to be.

I'm planning on going now too. We're going to overnight it either in town in Leadville or out on the trail. (we might go do Holy Cross instead)

Also, on the Leadville side, is Birdseye Gulch. I haven't seen it in years, but it featured a bottomless mudbog, (back then efforts to build some kind of bridge were beginning) then some little hills and stuff, then you are driving over watermellon sized boulders in a streambed. (I think the stream took over the road) The road is old and there is some sidehill on it, but after driving down the highly exposed (but flat) Mosquito Pass, it is nothing.

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend either. Wish I could, sounds like alot of fun and would be nice to meet some new people.

Maybe next time.
