I haven't been on this trail, but it's rated pretty easy, so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say "stockers welcome"!

Where is a good place to meet up - at the school?

I was thinking that starting on the Camp dick side would be better.

Sorry, I didn't notice that the school is on the north end. I reread the map and it is pretty straight forward.

We started at the school the last time we went. If you start at the other end you cant get that far...theres way more snow there. If you start on the end with the school you can get to the other trails atleast

yeah its the same road as the school you go in and take a left. If you go right its private. On the trail there are a few places you will see no tresspassing and to stay on the road.
heres pics at the school

Stockers can have more fun the the bigger rigs. On here. The guy we went with that had the stock 4runner has a blast. he got stuck in the snow a bunch but had a blast doing it. When the trail is dry its a great trail to get used to mods you have done or even practice thats why i spend so much time on it because im not used to a lifted truck yet and the off camber stuff still freaks me out some.

+ my rig and the silver taco in the pics. Trail bashing seems to be more fun then running carnage every weekend.

You folks are lucky to be able to wheel in the rockies whenever you have a free weekend. I love it up there; on a side note I was looking at some of the pictures & the first one that came up was of a dump truck load of dirt across the trail that had been driven over a few times....I don't know about there, but here property owners do that to discourage people from going down the trails when they can't afford gates. But after the dirt piles are driven over a time or two the gates find their way across the trail.

After reading about the no trespassing signs in this thread the picture seems to mean that maybe the land may have changed hands to a less public friendly owner. I hope not for your sakes.

Have fun & remember to post some pictures!

Clarification: Meeting on the school end (north) and running to the south end.

Unfortunately, if I don't get my starter fixed, my rig may be out. Molly has been not feeing well, so I may have to borrow hers ... hopefully she feels well enough to come along.

Brenjen - it is quite common out here for public trails/roads to cross private land and see that kind of stuff. If everyone would stay on the trail, there wouldn't be need for it, but alas, not everyone does. Also, some of the landowners are jerks and don't follow the rules/law.

I noticed when I was up there outside of Blackhawk working in January of '06 I never saw much in the way of no trespassing signs, gates, berms or anything like that to block access roads/trails. Here in Arkansas it's more common to have blocked areas than open ones. Here we have the glorious "purple paint syndrome" it's so common it should be the state color.

In case you're wondering, purple paint marked every X-many feet (15 ft. i.i.r.c.) means private property here in Arkansas. Get caught on marked property = go to jail, road or no road. The only exceptions are govt. maintained roads (Federal,State,County,City), those are public access but are usually graded smooth or paved & are not trail ride worthy.

Bummer about Molly being ill and you having starter issues. I hope both you guys can make it.

I should be there. I had to go to the emergency room on Wednesday because I had an alergy to penicillian based antibiotic. I have been trying to rid myself of walking pnumonia. Thanksfully my chest x-ray says I am still getting better - but I have been really tired. So I'll just be a passenger on this run
