Whats a good price to pay for a trekker/trailblazer?

There is a guy that lives up the street from me that has either a Trekker or a Trail Blazer sittin in his front yard. Its been sittin there for at least a year (when I first noticed it). I have wanted to drop by and offer to buy it off of him but I dont want to insult him if he know what it is.

Trailblazer will have a steel bed and the cap will be raised above the level of the cab.
Trekker will have a fiberglass bed and the cap is even with the cab.

I have seen Trekkers/Trailblazers sell as low as $700'ish. Unfortunately there is no real market for them for collectors unless you are looking for one. I paid $2k for my trekker. They are cool to have but the fiberglass is probably gonna need a ton of work.

I was finally able to get a pic of it today.

Its actually in rougher condition than I thought. The side glass is gone, the back hatch is gone, looks to have hit something in the front.

That is a trekker.
Someone has enlarged the rear window cut out. Way bigger than stock size.

I'd say it's still worth $1000-$1500. On the higher end if the frame's not bent or rotted out. The body looks pretty straight, definitely restorable with the right amount of time/money. It's a piece of history that could, and should, be restored IMO. But with what's there you could also throw a pre-84 short bed PU body on it too.

Either way, there's only one thing that's 100% certain. It's going to waste just sitting there. Somebody better do something with it. It's a crying shame, that's what that is.

I thought the window holes looked a little outta whack. Why would someone make a bigger hole? I think it would make it harder to find some glass for it, unless they were planning on usin plexi or something. I think I would replace the top with one slacker popped, if he starts producing them to sell. I wanna go up there and see if he wants to part with it but since I aint got any money at the moment. I don't think its goin anywhere though, its been sittin there for a while. I would love to have it though. It would be a fun project restorin a piece of historty.

The original trekker windOw frames were not the best idea/design.
When TrekkerPaul offered to swap my sliding trekker windows for a solid set I jumped at the chance. Finding replacements is as hard as the proverbial hen's teeth.
My guess is that someone along the way was going to try to swap in some canopy sliding windows to replace a set of leaking windows.
