My order (FJC)

Was initially set for June, then they thought they could catch a silver one destined to be all deck out and then downsized for me, and that would be next month.

That fell through, it was to late to change out that rig, so it is coming in all deck out still.

Found out though that I can not order that cool display cluster that sits atop the dash.
It is part of a $2.5K package which I do not need.
I am sure that cluster will be available separately in the near future.

The $2.5K package that I mentioned is:

Instrument cluster
rear diff locker (already ordered separately)
VHS traction
A Trak traction
Alloy wheels (already ordered separately)
6 disc stereo, 8 speakers, and optional $60 more for the powered sub woofer

I do not need the fancy stereo, will be adding aftermarket stereo, my own amps, and my 15" sub woofer.

The VHC and A Trak are nice, but from what I read, the A Trak can be self added.

The wheels and rear locker is close to $1k by itself, I can not see paying the additional; $1.5K for the stereo and other stuff I do not need now.

Will look into that cluster later, and also possibly the dealer/port installed roof rack if my Yakima Load Warrior rack can not be utilized.

June is better, it will give me even more time to save up some more $$$

He he he...
I am upset they are coming into dealers all around, except for my dealer.
I want to sit in one and feel the power of that 4.0.
They will call me once one is available.

Hey, they did have the FJ magazines there afterall.
They have them put away up in the sales booth.
I guess if they were out in the open they would be gone very fast.

Thanks, and the FJ mags were there, but you have to ask for them, they are hidden.

Dave, I may just have to detail mine when we get a full weekend of good weather.
But I tell you man, 3 years of no wax and all of the grime growing on it, the first pass with clay may not even work.
May take a few attempts.

I may be better off talking with a detail shop to see how much to just do the exterior only.

"VSC", it's not a tape player. LoL Vehicle Stability Control. And I don't think it's needed, it only works in 2WD with the diff unlocked and ATRAC off, most of us probably know how to bring a truck out of a skid. It's more for the inexperienced driver and frankly if my rear end is hangin out sideways, I'm probably doing it on purpse.

VHS tape, good catch, I could not remember the name of it.

Yeah, the A Trak would be cool, we will have to wait and see if that $60 switch I mentioned in another thread will really do the trick or not.

I may also have to call another dealer to see if I can get a test drive since my dealer says they are a month out on getting in around 8 more.
And I think these are all spoken for.

These are a very hot item.

How far east do you want to go? Our dealers here in Ottawa, Canada have them on the lots.

I sat in one today.

Looked kinda plain inside, but nice...nothing fancy.

And what the heck is up w/ the PINK powder coated fan spindle? I'm not kidding. It was PINK. Someone's sick joke...cause it looks mighty gay under the hood when you look at the engine.

Lots of wanna-be retards "test" driving it and you could just look at them and go "no way".

So are you getting one or not Corey?

yep, I thought the plain (simplified) interior was really nice. Kinda how an off road rig should be.

355 Toyota in Rockville, MD has a yellow FJ Cruiser 4X4 MT with the roof rack with no ADM. Or did on Friday.

I changed my mind.
Yes, I am still getting it, but I went for the package I described above.

The $2.5K package that I mentioned is:
Instrument cluster
rear diff locker (already ordered separately)
VHC traction
A Trak traction
Alloy wheels (already ordered separately)
6 disc stereo, 8 speakers, and optional $60 more for the powered sub woofer
So I told them to take off the locker and the alloy wheels, and then add in the above package.
This way I get the instrument cluster (gotta have it, coolness factor here) best sound system, minus the sub woofer.
Even though I may be yanking out the sound system for a custom one, it will be nice to have it on hand if I ever sell the rig.

Who knows, the stock upgraded system may sound nice, it has 8 speakers, but I am use to a very high end system I put in my 4Runner including a 15" JL W6 sub woofer.
