No headlights/high beams.. BAH
Okay, so..
I have an 86 pickup.. 4x4 carb if it makes a difference..
heres the issue - occasionally my headlights would flick off and on really quick while i was driving (when they were on) and the highbeam indicator would always flick on, when the lights flicked off..
now.. yesterday morning, i turned the stick to turn my lights on.. and they came on, went off.. and never came back on.
the high beam indicator light comes on, but there are no high beams.. i push the stick to turn the high beams on.. nothing.
so i pull the stick towards me, like i'm flashing my highbeams.. and thats the only way I have lights currently..
Any ideas on where to start? I checked fuses.. none are blown..
and what gets me, is when i try to turn the lights on, all i get is a high beam indicator even though the high beams arent on.
HELP!
Thanksss

Sounds like the switch on the end of the "stick" is worn out after 23 years. When you pull back on the stick to flash high beams, you bypass the switch on the end of the stick (that's why the lights come on even when you have the switch off).
Since you say all fuses are good, my bet is on a worn out switch.
