a/c shorting out... :( help?

hi guys

i have a 91 yota pu 4x4 v6. for over a year now my ac has been out and with the s cali heat, i need it back bad.

i took apart my passenger side dash today and was praying that the ac prob was just a blown fuse. to my relief, it was a blown fuse! so i ran down to my local shop and picked up a new 10amp fuse. popped it in, started the truck, turned on the ac and POP. it blew again. (it didnt actually make a pop sound ). so now what could it be? somewhere in the AC electrical system, its overloading or something? anyone have an idea where to go from here? i will buy another 10amp fuse later today and try once more just for kicks

help pwease.

thanks
j

Hey Josh - I'm having the exact same problem with my 4Runner. I'm thinking that my compressor clutch coil is causing the problem (after a little troubleshooting I've eliminated the A/C relay and A/C switch at the culprits).

I'll let you know what fixes mine once I get it to my mechanic (they're in Norwalk) later this month.
