Maybe around 100 150 for a kit? The only brand I know of is maybe KC highlights. Whats pretty popular around here? did my first night time offroading the other day and some more lighting would have helped a ton!!

lightforce well i got mine soo cheap but the hella 500s with a hid kit seem popular ... also the h4 conversion kit for your headlights that will help alot if you haven't done it yet

You have AutoZone bottom end price/quality and then they go up quickly from there. Lots of expensive brands: Not sure why they even sell a $700 set of lights, who would buy that???

If you are willing to shell out about $150 or a little less even, you have lots of options, 4wheelparts.com has some decent stuff as does some of the other online resources.

Look at the wattage for what you want and go with as much quality as you can afford; there is a lot of money made in the light covers screaming brand xy or z but there is a wide range of options.

Just installed a set of $23 driving lights on my taco today, wired them to my reverse lights so I can SEE what I'm gonna hit backwards now...

Like Elton said, start out with a good set of headlights first before adding lights.
I have HID headlights in my truck, I don't think I need an extra set of off road lights, except maybe a set on the back

I've always been a fan of Hella lights. The 500's are a great fairly inexpensive light. Ive run them on many cars over the years. I also like the Black Magics. They are a little more pricey though.

yeah, i'd start out with the cheap $20 kits from walmart. it kinda depends on the wheeling you do though. if you're just crawling you don't need super bright beams that reach a long distance, just some to put on the bottom so you can see whats going on directly around you and its likely they'll probably get beat up pretty good. the high priced lightforce stuff is more for rally trucks and such. (correct me if i'm wrong people).

elton's H4 Upgrade will be a good starting point.
Try that since you would need the H4 housing for HID's (if you go that route anyway)
One disadvantage to the HID's I put in my truck I had to move my battery back and my coolant overflow tank due to the depth of the HID bulb

I knew I would be running into some clearance issues, HID bulb assembly needs a bit more room than the stand H4:
