Tacoma: seat in bed

I've searched around here some and moreso on ttora and found some threads but they were old and I thought i'd ask for opinions as well as experience. has anyone ever mounted some sort of waterproof-ish bench seat in the back of their taco/pickup? im thinkin something like an old bench from a 1st gen runner or from a jeep that can get wet, bolted down to some frame or crossmembers underneath with bolted lap belts. i'm not suggesting this for daily driving, but for random things like transporting friends across campus, or driving on the beach (non dangerously) or even some of the light wheeling (no off-camber things, dirt roads, forest roads and whatnot). i know itd be a death trap for the passenger on the freeway or even normal city roads, but for the situations i listed above, i think it'd be pretty sweet and there are times i could use the extra seating capacity. opinions? experiences? it would be removable of course for the times when i need precious cargo space

Pick up some jumpseats from a Subaru Brat off ebay. Those things are sweet and I've always wanted a set.

Look up crackerjack. He's mounted the bench from his truck in the bed and replaced it with Tacoma buckets. He folds it forward and tarps it in the bed when not in use.

I was thinking about doing this too, I was planning on grabbing a spare seat from a suburban or something at the wrecker.

It'd be great for shuttling when I'm mountian biking.

My dad did it in his old ranger years ago. He had it for fishing the beaches in Wilmington, NC
