100km = roughly 60 miles.
1500 x 6 to double that - about 9,000 to 18,000 miles.

I do as well. But using Mobil 1, my drain intervals are every 6k and my filter change is every 3k and I top it off with more Mobil 1. I guess I'm just retentive like that. .

here is why i ask: i just changed my oil, and i could not find the brand new filter i had just bought. so while fretting and fuming and kicking around trying to find it, a friend who is very competent mechanically said just skip it, if i change my oil often enough (i do every 3k) the filter will not get dirty enough to change. now while i see some logic in this, i also know there is a _reason_ the oil stays clean...

Just change the oil filter the next day and top off the oil. You need to change the filter everytime you change the oil. You wouldn't take a shower and then put your dirty clothes back on, would you???

Change the oil and leave the old filter, it's like you never changed the oil but change the filter and leave the old oil, it's like you poured new oil into the engine.

Change the filter and top off

I switched to Mobil 1 after trying Amsoil once. I don't do my own oil changes and found the local amsoil guy to be too far away. I will probably change at 6-7K. I ran the Amsoil for 9K and it looked pretty nasty by then.

I change at 3000 miles. Always change the filter also. I use the Toyota filter. I got a bunch of them at the dealer for $3 each. I've been running the Valvoline Max-Life oil and I like it. I'd like to use Mobil ! but I know it would start leaking and right now it's as tight as a frogs. . . well you can guess. 188,000 miles and there isn't one leak on this truck. I love my 4Runner. Better mileage would be nice too.

Sorry, had to edit the mileage - I had put !88,000 miles. I have new contacts and can't see up close very well.

I hope you're kidding.... becuase if not, it sounds like a real waste of natural resources , IMHO and is just my 2 cents.

250 miles damn, you must have plenty of free time cause their have been times when I put 250 on a day or every few days, if we lived closer I would take your used oil and filters

what kind of oil are you running and what is it you don't say, you internals must be in excellent shape, but according to your 16-20 oil changes a year thats 4000 or 5000 miles a year, you don't really travel

You're wasting your money and time. There is simply no need to change it every 250 miles.

I've always used Mobil-1 oil with Purolator filters. Everything has always told me they're some of the best...

But I think I'm gonna make the switch to amsoil at my next oilchange. I was going to do a filter relocation kit, but now I may do the micron-filter.
