valve adjustment
Ok i have read several subjects on this but want to be sure.
I have had hot rods, turbo 4 cyl with mechanical valves.
I have a 93 4wd 22re with 247k miles. The valves where alittle noisy.I warmed truck up ,pulled vc,went by the procedure posted here. Two intakes were too loose and three exhaust were too tight.Went with .007 and .011.
It idles right at 850 rpm, runs great no problems, but valves are a little noisy. My question is i guess on these engines better to be a little noisy than too tight and no noise at all.

on an engine with that many miles it wouldnt hurt to go .006 and .009 or something close to that. i havent heard a 22re that doesnt have at least a little valve clatter. i had to adjust mine a little tighter than suggested and it didnt hurt anything. someone will correct me if im wrong, but it shouldnt hurt anything.
