Stock cluster swap to sr5 cluster

I have a 94 Toyota 3.0 auto 4x4 pickup and I got a hold of a 94 4runner 3.0 auto cluster. I got everything working except the rpm and I'm trying to figure out how to wire it up for the rpm to work. Need to know how to wire it up to get it to work. I know I have to tap I to either the igniter or the ignition coil and from there where do I hook up the wire to cluster. A write up would help, Pics would help too. Thanks

If I understand what your trying to do.

Everything should work after changing the different sending units

Unless you bought the cluster from a 22re vehicle

You should not need to add any wires .

Poor connection or mechanical problem with the tach

Unless you just cut off all the plugs and have a big mess

I see now I misread I thought they were both 4 Runners

In any case the black wire off the igniter should be the tach signal

It should attach to pin #7 of the blue plug from the 4Runner

You understand how to Look at Toyota Plugs like your plugging them into your eyes

The clip is on the top #7 is the 7TH pin from the left

Thanks a lot, I will try it in a bit. I'm currently working on some other things I put off on my truck. Thanks again.

Thanks wyoming9, thanks to you my tach works great. Now I'm working on the oil gauge. I change the sending unit with a gauge sending unit from a 91 Toyota pickup 3.0 4x4 and also changed the oil gauge itself and it's still not working. I'm wondering if it's the sending unit or the oil gauge cluster electrical. Still doing some testing. Thanks again for your help.
