need help in Las Cruces NM!
is there anyone in Las cruces NM that is really knowledgeable about the 22re engine?
here is my situation:
i am attending NMSU right now and have more money than time/tools/knowledge. ive got an oil consumption/rough idle problem that i cant find the answer to after searching/asking every resource i can think of. so can anyone help me out with either a solid recommendation for a mechanic or some spare time to help me fix this problem?
if so that would be awesome! thanks!

If you want to take it to a good mechanic that specializes in Toyota you can check out TinkerToy Automotive in west El Paso. I took them my wife's Lexus when the AC crapped out and they are good. Their address is:
160 MCCUTCHEON SUITE E ph:915-584-5057
Oil consumption could be worn piston rings or valves to name just a few. Rough idle could be as simple as a tune up. How many miles does your 94 have?

i recently had the motor rebuilt, so about 10k. ive taken it to a couple mechanics and have asked and asked to have a compression test done but they both said there really isnt any reason because it shows no signs of having bad compression. i dont trust any general mechanic because they dont KNOW the 22re like people on here do. i really dont know what is wrong with the truck and it would almost be cheaper to have the motor REBUILT AGAIN than to go with something else.
thanks for the number i will call them and see what they say.
