I need the right shocks.
Hello everyone. I have a 98 4runner, 4wd, with a 2.7 4 cylinder engine. About 4 years ago, I replaced the struts/shocks with a Tokico brand replacement (part numbers unknown at this point) and the springs were OME 906/881. The problem I had is that the front sat higher than the rear. I remedied that by adding Dayco ride levelers in the rear, giving me the stance and height I wanted.
The problem I have now is that the ride has gotten bouncier than I can stand. I'm thinking the struts and shocks I got from Ebay are standard height components and having them stretched at little longer than they are supposed to be caused them to wear out sooner than expected.
This truck is a 99% on-road vehicle that only sees "off-road" when we get alot of snow. I like the height of the truck, I just need to make it less bouncy.
Any one have any thoughts on this?
Thank you

Jack the truck up in the back with the shocks removed. Measure extended length and get shocks that travel an inch or two longer. I have given up on Rancho brand shocks. I use Trailmaster brand at the moment, but look up Bilstien.
