Front Axle Help
Hey guys got a problem. Ok here the thing with it jacked up like that I cant turn the member with my hand it is locked in but when I put my locking hub on I have to get a crow bar or put the tire on and turn it that way but its kinda hard. cant remember if it was like this before. I took the top and bottom off and it frees up and they are covered with grease but every time I tighten them up it locks it up. It's strange.

I think I get it. The wheels/hubs are hard to rotate when the hubs are locked in, but turn fine with them unlocked, correct? The trunions shouldn't affect how the axle spins (I think thats the part you said you loosened?) which makes me think the axle may be bent. Is the driveshaft still in place when you are trying to spin it by hand? Locker in the front end? (not to be confused with locking hubs)? Can we get some pictures? Have you taken the hubs/ axle shafts/ third member out to further inspect?

Yes you are right. No drive shift is off. I have taken the passenger axle out. It's not bent or anything. I can put my hand on the flange of the member and it will turn. I have the spiders welded. But you know the top and bottom of the knuckle there is bearings. When I tighten them down it locks up.

Tightening the trunions down should not make the wheel harder to spin...Both sides like that? If it was my truck, Id pull the knuckles/3rd and check everything over.

Well I know a few years ago I put it together in the dark and it did that after I took it all apart to weld up the 3rd but I was like oh well I didn't care. But now it is buggin me lol. But everything is stock on the truck its all factory the bearings even still say Japan on it lol.
