Favorite Mod for under $250

im looking for a cheap mod to add to my truck. i have money to do more, but thats goin in the bank to save for college. ive decided i wont spend more than $250 per mod. anybody have a favorite one they might suggest? my truck is stock with BFG 31x10.5x17's. This is my DD, but i do some wheeling on the weekends. im planning to get a junkyard motor, and rebuild it with all high performance parts and set up a turbo over the summer. any help would be appreciated.

Or you could get a rear lockrite for under $250 as well.

You said it was your daily driver, so i don't know if you'd want to drive in snow with a rear locker or not. Some more inexperienced people might not want to do that.

Otherwise, I'd go with some Armor like a budbuilt skid plate setup. But that's just a tad outta your budget of $250 and runs $280ish, but their transfercase crossmember runs about $200. I would consider that as well as it's the most hangup part on our trucks.

P.S> I wouldn't worry bout running a turbo setup. 3.4 swap is where it's at.

http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1st...extension.html is probably the closest to what I did myself. I just re-used the stock breather though (no fuel filter), relocated next to the gas cap.

I put a boat in/out of the water fairly often, and I have to say I enjoy backing in up to the tail lights just for the fun of it and watching people stare or ask if I need help getting out. Then I just drive out and away. Not sure if it will affect the e-locker motor negatively, guess we'll find out.

The front diff and transfer case breathers are on the driver side in the engine bay. I didn't touch them since they're already pretty high.

Take that $250 and go buy gold near the equator (slightly less gravity), then go as far North as you can (slightly more gravity) and sell it. Repeat until you're a millionaire and mod away.

Does the cost to weight savings offset travel costs? This might have worked 50 years ago when gas was 10 cents a gallon though. lmao.

Somehow I don't see him making it through Mexico if he's walking. And if he's takin a Yota forget it, he's got a better shot making it on foot.

Well I know what the Mexicans do to the Yotas up here. There's hardly anything left when they are done with them in the Junk yards. They love em!!!!

And by this I mean no racial prejudice either.

In all seriousness (lacking in that department today), I'd slap some Bilstein shocks on it.
