94 toyota xtra-cab

Hello every1 well i recently bought a 94 toyta extended cab sr5 3.0 i bought it for 4800 was kinda iffy on the price but the truck was really clean inside and out so i decided to go for it.

but.. it needs new tires. I went to get a quoute today on some BFG All-Terrain T/A KO tires and it came up to 675.
since i dunno much about anything when it comes to trucks i figured id get some opinions frm you guys on maybe some other brands u might recomend. i was lookin at 31X10.5R15 size wise since theguy said he wouldnt go any bigger w/o a lift and i dnt gt the cash for a lift at the moment lol

well ima move to Humboldt county in August to go to school there so I really wanna do some off roading but i jus need to get in with the right crowd so I can learn the ropes

oh yeah the truck is an automatic and has 184000 miles on it. well ive been trolling oin here for a few weeks now and spent the mayority of my free time yesterday lookin at the pix of all the truck u guys got

heres a pic of the day i got it bout 2 weeks ago. Thanx alot fellas any advice would greatly help since i plan on changing the tires asap bcuz the ones i got now are done.

the pix myte b a little huge sry couldnt figure out how to make t smaller...

Sweet dude!!
Come on up. I live in Trinidad!
Lots of good wheeling up here!
Way back I had BFG's on my 93. They are great tires for what they do. They lasted a long long time and I wheeled them pretty hard.
I think you better lift that thing if you go bigger on the tires.
Nice truck!

Haha well actually Trinidad isnt to far far off of Arcata/Eureka right? on the 101? We might have to get in touch sometime after August itd b much appreciated

dang i actually found the thread u were talking about and it seems like a hell of a deal to me : http://www.performanceplustire.com/p...-15#prodAnchor of course they are only on the 33's

so i guess that brings me to the next question are lifts pretty expensive? Man i would love to do it haha
well of to search i go lol oh and also the MT perform pretty good on the road? since im prolly gna spend more time on pavement then off of it thats why i was kinda headin more in the AT direction....

thanx guys and ill try to put a few more pics up

well if you did want to lift your truck for some 33's some ball joint spacers and some shakles in the back would do you good, search around for the BJ spacers on here, and the treadwrights are a pretty good tire, alot of people sware by them, and for 33's their like 100 bucks a pop

Honestly for that price its tempting
but ive never really trusted buying stuff online but on top of that the shippin quote is 85.16 + 300 bucks still blows 675 outta the water lol. i dnt think ima go wit the lift tho. i guess these are the tires i wud b lookin at..

http://www.treadwright.com/shopNowre...34&submit1.y=9#

so what would b the diff between the LT 31x10.50R15 ATB and the LT 31x10.50R15 A/T

and actually today when i came back home i noticed my engine made a clicking sound for about a minute but then it went away..

Ur not gonna believe this but just now i took the truck to a local park to take pics of it after i pickd up my sis frm work..

and the truck was screeching like no other man it sounded like when those 18 wheelers come to a stop nxt to u on the road... so that got me alittle scared/ angry considering i jus bout it for 4800 and im about to spend most my money on tires....

but then i thought maybe i need a little grease? so i tok the pix and drove home.

as i got to the house i noticed a slight whistleling sound so i got under the truck and it was really prominent down there towards the back end it was clear as day the whistleling noise....

to top it all off i noticed i broke the camera screen when i went dwn there to listen to the damn sound!

so u guys got any ideas? im starting to think that a trip to the mechanic is inevitable but maybe im just paranoid hopefully u guys can help me out thanx.

oh and the pix are comin currently uploading to imageshack.

will check back in a few when the pics are here lol
but it sounds like you got an ok deal none the less...
When I get a new used vehicle the first thing I do is change all the fluids and get the brakes checked/serviced, and wheels balanced that way you know exactly where to start your service intervals from. It does'nt cost a lot and is cheap ins.

just so you know, you can fit 33x10.50s bone stock with no lift. only a small amount of hammering on the pinch weld is needed. make sure you use your stock wheels so there is no other problems with rubbing

It looks like you got a decent deal even with the mechanical issues. That really is a clean truck.

thanx man.

well i just went to 4 different tire shops... there seems to be 1 in every corner here in Modesto lol.

the best deal i saw was 450 for all terrains 31X10.5 some unknown brand i dnt kno i have to make up my mind tho lol

then the most intriguin one and the one i really want to do is at big o tires theyre having a sale that they give u 100 bucks off when u buy certain sets of tires..

so i can get 31X10.5 M/T bigotire brand tires for 733. waht do u guys think good deal?

also ima replace the shocks but there they want 325 to do the job so i think im jus gna buy the shocks somewhere and have the guy thats gna align it 4 me install em...
