22re Throttle body accident! *help please*

I tried doing a thorough search of the truck forums and couldn't find anything specifically adressing the problem I just created for myself so any helpful replies are much appreciated.

I removed the throttle body from my girlfriends '95 2wd pickup and was attempting to unattach the IACV when I encountered a really tight screw that just wouldn't come out. I thought I had properly cradeled the bottom of it while I was hitting the screwdriver with a hammer to try and loosen the screw. I still haven't got the screw out but in the process I broke off one of the small copper vaccuum feed nipples. Is there anyway to replace this 90 degree copper elbow, and if so, how?

Thanks in advance....

Red face

Drill the broken one out I would think they are a press in fit

Find a new piece of copper or even stainless depending on clearance you might not even have to bend it.

A small amount of your favorite epoxy should do the trick

or just go yard and get a new one heck I think I have one I would send you just for the shipping.

If interested PM me I will see it quicker

You're basically going to have to do what Wyoming9 said above. I had this happen to me last month when I was trying to clean the ports out and found one of them clogged. I couldn't unclog it so I tried to take it off. Instead it cracked and broke off on me. I had to drill it out and put a new one in. I had an extra throttle body I got from a junkyard so I removed one from that, very slowly with a pair of pliers. I used a rag between the pliers jaws so I didn't chew up the tube and also used some Liquid Wrench as I worked it back and forth in a twisting motion from side to side to help remove it. It's a slow process but it eventually came out.

I used JB Weld to bond it in place in my throttle body. Had to let it cure over night but It's been working great ever since.

Thanks Wyoming and Hilux. JB Weld seems to have worked after a 24 hour cure in fairly cold weather. Unfortunately, cleaning the IACV didn't do the trick and I had to order the part... oh well. As far as getting 22-RE parts from a yard in the Sacramento area, impossible. I went to all 4 Pick-N-Pull dealers this week and every single Toyota pickup had the engine compartment stripped clean.

Thanks again for your replies.
