Rear brake help
Well, started off to do a "simple" rear rotor and pad replacement on my '04 this morning. Wife had worn down the right rear pad where it started tearing up the rotor, so I just decided to replace the rotors and pads.
When I got the right rear rotor off, the pressure spring for the front emergency brake shoe and two caps that go on either side of the spring fell out. Ugh... Falling random parts. I thought I got it all back together, but now the rear spring assembly is rubbing when the wheel/rotor spins, and that's the one that didn't come off! I didn't have any problems at all with the driver side. I've tried to attach some pics of the problem.
Here is the spring assy. on the front e-brake shoe that I had to put back together. It clears everything when the wheel turns.
Here is the spring assy. of the rear e-brake shoe that I did not touch. This is the one that rubs when the wheel spins.
And here's a video of the rotation and rubbing of the shoe spring. Click on the pic to see the video in Photobucket.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't have a shop manual, so if someone has an electronic copy of that, it could be a big help as well. Thanks!

Well, I'm still not sure why it happened, but I ended up shortening the pin that holds the spring and captive ends. It has a offset bend in it, so I just took the hammer and pliers to it to shorten it up a bit. Seems to be working now. Maybe I should just buy a hardware kit just in case.
