Help needed for shipping a car
I love my 2006 Tacoma but it is time for me to pass the car on to my daughter.
She is, however, currently in Canada.
I need to ship the car to her from Chicago to Montreal.
Normally I'd use United Routes. I am thrilled with the service they provide and their prices are extremely fair. They are also a pleasure to work with. However they dont cross borders. They offered to take it to the border and have a Canadian company take it the rest of the way.
Anyone do such a thing? Can anyone advise me which Canadian company to use to finish the shipment? Thanks

I've shipped a car using uship.com with success. You tell them what you're shipping and where and then people can either put in bids or you can set your price and when a shipper is willing to do it for that amount they claim it. This way is more expensive than going direct with a shipper, though. I've also used a place called http://www.tropicalautocarriers.com/ which was great. They shipped my 4Runner from Delaware to Cleveland for $525. They picked up next day and had it to me the day after. I don't know if they can go over the border, though.
