Well to make a long story short - I was up in the mountains today and the factory e-locker blew up. It was binding somehow and it is done... kaput.

The shop it's currently parked at said that the gears are totaled, but the motor looks fine on the 3rd. Also, my housing and axles are fine as well. They quoted me $2600 to fix it, and I know I can do it myself for less... but the last time I purchased a brand new e-locker it was from inchworm 6 years ago and it was a 4.56 - but what I need today is a 3.73 which seems much more difficult to find.

Here are my questions:



In the above picture, the part labeled "1" is the e-locker's motor - correct?

What is the part labeled "2"?

2nd Question: If I were to purchase a rebuilt 3rd member from this website (http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-131...ocker-3rd.html) I would need to remove the part in the picture labeled "1" and install it on the rebuilt 3rd member - correct?
The product description states "This is an assembled 3rd w/ out motor " - so that would only be "1" in the picture, or both "1" and "2"?

Last question: Is there any other part of the actuator motor above "1" that does not come off when the motor (1) is removed?

I've gotta be able to beat $2600 bucks! I hope my questions aren't too confusing. I'm still in shock over the estimate - and I'm trying to get my wits about myself back. Still trying to calm down.
