worn motor mount signs??
i have my motor pulled out. my mounts seem to have alot of play in them, but im not sure how much play they are supposed to have. does anybody have a guideline i can go off of to know wether to replace them? also if they were bad i would just need to replace the insulators and the stabilizers, am i correct?

With them mounted to the block I can easily rock them like a boat at least an inch in both directions and partially spin them like a top in both directions.

Not good. Replace them. They should be too stiff to move easily in any direction. I'd be willing to bet that upon further inspection you'll find that the rubber has seperated from the metal parts to some extent. They are replaced as a one piece unit. The FSM refers to that unit as a RH or LH engine mounting insulator. There are no stabilizers. The engine mounts/insulators bolt to the frame on one end, and to the engine mounting brackets on the other.
