Who makes a good stock style replacement carburetor?

Not sure I have the time or energy to rebuild my stock Aisin. Also not sure I want a Weber. I've had a Redline Weber before and it was great but always seemed to have issues with it dieseling on shutdown.

I notice a lot of "Aisin style" carburetors on ebay. Such as this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/21100-35520-...5YwQ5F&vxp=mtr

What are the chances that it's not garbage? Any other good choices in carbs for the 22r?

Try calling a carb supplier website. I'd go Weber if one fits.

Whats it going on?
I just rebuilt mine (87 22r 4wd) a few weeks ago. It wasn't bad if you start off with a good game plan.
