becauseeee w/ a SAS my body wouldnt roll to the left as severe as that. The tire would would drop down ahelluva lot futher than my tire does now w/ IFS. Thats the problem w/ limited travel of the IFS. Once the tire falls as far as it can then the truck leans over until it hits ground again. Not to mention the tire being stuffed (on the right in this case) doesnt "stuff" very much. If that tire could go higher, it'd bring the COG down.

Dont you have a SAS'd rig tc?

Yes, I have one of each, and depending on the situation, the SAS is NOT more stable than the IFS. Just because the wheels are on the ground, does NOT mean the situation is more stable. If the body leans over enough to get the COG outside the wheel track, you're going over - that's the laws of physics and incontrovertable.

You're going downhill, the weight is on the front. The driver's side front is going to go down just like it is now. If not, you would have held UP that tire with IFS and the rear would have stayed down.

The situation is entirely different than MarcP, who is, essentially, on level ground. (I also note that he took a different line the second time. Seth/Deathrunner showed the difference)

Whether IFS or SAS, it appears that they all got through and had a good time wheeling.

A lot of people seem to bash IFS rigs, but I'd rather wheel an IFS rig than sit at home. At least it's still 4wd.

That should support TC's case.. That looks nearly identical to the obstacle that that I did my wheelstand on and your rig is a solid axle. I was able to get a more direct line compared to you, you're cuttin the corner sharp. I think my rig at that angle would flop over for sure. You're front is flexing more than my truck does in its wetdreams =p

i was trying to take the turn wider, but gravity and super slick mud sucked me into the bug rut. i was realy close to rolling and luckely my topper hit the tree to stop it. i was able to drive right out of it though.

To the original poster (drew303): Did you have your sway bar removed? That will make a pretty big difference...

no sway bar and i reverted back to stock torsion bars.
