Water pump.
So I am going to replace the water pump on my 3.0 and was planning on doing the timing belt but am unsure if i should just get a belt or get the belt kit that comes with the tensioner, belt and idler. Any advice would be great.

Check the Timing Belt section of this post for links to threads that will answer many of your questions; post back with any others:

FYI, Ebay requires only a checking account or most kinds of credit cards through Paypal. You have to set up your bank account in your Paypal account first. I have gotten a lot of very inexpensive stuff through Ebay this way.

now before I tear this down I have one last stupid question to ask. Can I reuse the timing cover gasket or will I have to get a new one? I saw that they were $60 from my local store so saving $ sounds good but not cutting corners if its goin to hurt later on.

**update**
Got all the new parts installed and the runner is back on the road finally!
Started woth pulling the radiator and fan shroud 8 10mm bolts i believe(maybe 12mm)
Then the fan. 4 10mm nuts
And the belts plus and fan clutch/pulleys. 4 10mm nuts for fan pulleys
ahh the timing belt sob
The belt was cracking on the outside but ok on the inside....still replaced it.
Finally got down to the crank pulley I ended up not having to use any sst's just put it in 5th and chocked the wheels to get the bastard out.
Ready to tear the water pump, uper idler, and tensioner out to be replaced.
what a mess... after this i started to space on taking pictures.
Going back together already
last picture.
all went smooth until i forgot to put the 4 bolts back in the crank pulley BEFORE the fan went on. But she is back on the road and running awsome!
