tps unplugged and no ck engn light??
last weekend i dove my 88 into water deep enough it was over my gauge cluster. only for a bout 20min before i was pulled out. however i hit the water at wot about 25mph so it sucked alot of water in it. i immediately drained the oil and found an extra 6 to 8 qts of water in it. took the filter off and plugs out and it spit out probably 3 more qts of water.
anyways ive changed oil 3 times, cleaned every electrical connection and dielectric greased. different afm, cap rotor wires, drained diff tranny fluids, fuel, blah blah blah...
so it will start up and if i give it gas it revs up and down kinda like a rev limiter but only to about 2000rpm. but if i unplug the tps it will throttle up like normal but no ck engn light comes on. should the light come on if you unplug the tps?
i switched out the tps with another one off my 89 and stll does the same thing when plugged in. also swapped out the ecu, no dice...
i still feel my problem is the tps.

I have a 91 Toyota pickup and just did a TPS fix. I accidentally forgot to plug it back in when I started up the truck and it immediately turned on the CEL. Granted it's a 91 and yours is an 88, but it should turn it on. Might be a wiring issue.
