ha well i got around to tinting mine today and i didnt pay any attention to where Gila says that it should be 3 days above 40F, it has been colder than that. It turned out alright for doing it out in the open on a cold windy day. the only flaws are little spots where a little hair and dust blew up onto the tint and i kinda cut the drivers side a little short lol. its only like a 1/4 gap near the mirror though.

if anyone wants pics or anything tell me and il post some. (i dont wanna steal tubbys thread or anything...)

and thanks tubby for giving me some courage to try this myself. it was actually very easy for never doing it before.

After an experience with my gf and an over-eager early-riser parks attendant while camping, I think tinting the rear door windows might not be a bad idea.

What tint would match the factory back (cargo-area) side windows?

i did all the windows on my pickup a while back. and one more thing i would suggest when doing a roll down window is to take the doorpanel off and tint a 1/4 inch below the seal on the panel that constantly sits against the window. seemed to me it would help out so the seal wouldnt eventually pull the tint corners up.

LOL.

Well match as in color or darkness? Darkness is around 20% and i dont think they make a bronze color tint. Well ive seen it, it just looks like trash.

personally, if you want it darker, you can go 20%. If i could change the back i would keep the 5% i put over the factory and on the back, put 20% and not the 35% i put on, the 35% didnt really make it darker, it just made it more reflective.

But with the 5%, i cant see inside even if im on the glass. there has to be alot of light in the truck for me to see through it.

I might just buy the glass off a truck being parted out, I already have a factory-tinted passenger door glass set. I'm guessing the drivers side will cost maybe $30-50.

Yea you could do that if you find the windows.

My truck came with factory tint on the back 2 doors, cargo windows, and the rear roll down. But it just wasnt dark enough for me.

Tinting is way easier then replacing the window imo, haha.

i usually spray water on the outside window. stick the tint on then pull off the plastic off, spraying water on the sticky part as ur pulling. i kinda want to tint the front windows too but its too dangerous. looks like i have to do a walk around before i back up in a parking lot at night with 5 percent in rear

I pulled off the plastic thing as i as spraying water but the tint wasnt on a flat surface and it creased but oh well, you cant really tell.

I have 5% over the factory on my side windows and its a bit challenging backing up at night. Oh well, ill get used to it. haha.

i tried to fix my mistakes today and i ripped a little chunk in the tint. w/e you cant notice it outside. the only reason that i wanted to tint my windows because i don't want my sub to be in plain sight.

So i finished the back 2/3rds of my truck.

Heres some pics.
Before

Cargos done

After

Rear window after. Both pictures were taken after the tint was applied.
35% + factory tint.

The back window really changes when the sun hits it differently.
