I think it's safe to say that 340H isn't going anywhere again.

Just a recommendation: If you're going to tear into one of these, you need plenty of clean table space and some plastic trays or bins to sort the parts in order as they come out. It will make re-assembly a whole lot easier.

thanks for the reply and you are correct ....but I never intended to put this tranny back together again, this was a donor tranny I purchased just to get some parts from that I thought would fix the problem I was having with my tranny in my 4runner, but the parts I took from the donor tranny didn't help my issue.I then decided to tear the whole thin down just to see what the inside compoents looked like and boy what a lot of stuff in there and the engineer or enginners that designed this thing what were they thinking?

Wheres the pics?

I have a a340h, the transfer case is making a vibration/noise at highway speeds. Tightened the pinion nut, it was loose, made difference but went right back after only 20 minutes. I'm considering inspecting the bearing now> I would love to see this thread! Anyone know if the outer bearing is hard to get out?

so I was checking for play in my ujoints and noticed that my transfer case output shaft has A LOT of play in the TCase... is this the same prob everyone else has? is it fixable without pulling the trans? worth rebuilding or just buying a JDM trans?

All the pics went away.

Can you get them back?

I just found the same problem in my trans. Gonna take alook at it tonight.

From the research I have done thus far, we may be able to fix this problem by tightening the nut that hold the flange to the TC.

Wish me luck.
