Steering wheel/column lubrication
Got my first toyota last month...2000 4runner 2WD SR5 Sport. Lately I notice a scraping sound when turning the steering wheel in either direction. My first thought is that the wheel or column needs some grease somewhere. Is this true?
Can I lube/oil/grease the wheel/column? Should I take it to the stealer?
Any ideas most welcome!
Thanks,
sunman
(I love my 4runner!)

My grant wheel does the same thing. If you remove the steering wheel, there is a plate that the wheel kinda slides on, its for your blinkers and horn contacts. You might be able to grease it with a spray if you remove the coloum cover.

Well its pretty close - I was able to grease mine today by twisting my finger up and onto the plate with some grease. After driving for about 5 mins, the grease moved around and coated everything, all works.
