The highlift mount is feesible, but everyone needs to realize that adding anymore weight it just silly.
I love the guys who want to add two full 40lb jerry cans(EACH), a highlift, shovel, 37" tire on steel wheel, cooler rack, jamboree rack, etc. Then they wonder why the spindle fails or why it vibrates like a SOB.
IMO, you need to keep it as light as possible on the ass end.

if you DO design one for the 3rd gen pickups, am i right in assuming that it will fit on the runners too???
oh man, im gettin all hot an bothered just thinkin about it...
altho, would it require much work to alter it for a stock swingout carrier? or would you build one upon request?

The modifications to use a stock swingout carrier would be EXTENSIVE as it was designed to mount on the side to the body. Also, you need the tailgate from the tire-carrier equipped truck.
I have both and will be working on retrofitting them to my exo this winter. Keep an eye out for the build thread.

Not yet. I have been working on my new FJ60 today. I'm installing some 2nd gen 4runner seats, and needed to fab the seat brackets for it. I should be at the pic-n-pull tomorrow to find the struts, and will get the steel as well. I also am waiting on my latch.
It will be a few days before I get things updated again.

Looks good Scotty, I would consider some sort of bar that acts as a handle to lift the gate... that's going to be a heavy beast. Look forward to seeing it finished.
