Look at a flowmaster 50 delta. Someone posted up there was a 2 1/4" inlet/outlet one on summit. They might have your 2.5" you need. Its a little louder then stock, but not too much. Not even close to your glasspacks

big difference. Lets put it this way. Stock exhaust I could hear the intake over the exhaust. My 14 inch magnaflow I can hear in the cab OVER the engine. My little bro had a Flowie 50 delta on his 3.0 and it had a nice low idle and when he tried to rev it you could hear engine over exhaust. Not exactly stock, but more so then my 14 in ch magnaflow. (I think the delta 50 is 18 inches, but don't quote me on it.)

not sure, check the flowmaster site, it'll tell you which one is quieter, which is what it sounds like you need!! lol.

If you drive a lot, you get tired of listening to exhaust noise. It's much nicer to be able to hear your cd player instead and carry on a conversation without shouting. Personally, I think the MagnaFlow 40's are a little too loud for my taste.
Anyone have personal experience with the noise difference between the 40s and the 50s?

I have the magnaflow 14 inch muffler and I am getting used to it, but there is gonna be a lot of dynamat in my future. at 70mph, the drone kills me. Eventually I will cut it out and get a flowmaster 50 delta in there.
But I am old too. At least in the group of folks that all went wheeling today.

The carpet and rear interior panels are missing from mine. The flowmaster 40 resonates a lot more than I'd like. It gets tiring after a while.
New carpet and some sound mat along with a quieter muffler are on my wishlist.

sounds like you are in the same boat as me, except I HAVE carpet in the back still and it starts to get old after a while. Sound mat is coming. I guess some folks use peel and seal, a roofing material from Lowes, but I guess is identical to dynamat and radio installers use it all the time, gonna give that a test run in the cargo area behind the panels on the exterior walls

I wish I would have gotten the 18 inch.

very true. The closest you get is flowmasters scale of loudness.

The FM 40 is tolerable. But your not going to listen to your radio without the volume cranked up some and you have to raise your voice to talk to someone next to you.
