Semi-gloss brushed aluminum, and paint the ribs same color blue to look like veins!!

most toys in the 80's seemed to be brown. Camrys, corollas, cressidas etc. Lots of those used to be running around here so i always associate faded brown paint jobs as the toyota colours

Haven't been stupid enough to make one. I mean ALL fords have a damn blue oval, doesn't exactly match every color.

That's only the official colour of Toyota 4X4's.

Actually that goes back to the early days of what became F1 racing...

to avoid confusion in the days before instant replay and colour photography colours where assigned to different nations and all mfgs. entries from that country where painted the same...

Britain got "british" racing green, France "French racing blue" [a very attractive shade imo], Germany "German racing silver" and Italy "Italian racing red" [now commonly called Ferrari red]. Other nations where generally assigned white so far as I know...

edit: as for toyota I would say it is red since that is the colour used on all their signs/ad copy.
